As was reported everywhere including here, 4-star NJ QB Jarrett Guarantano was on campus yesterday for an unofficial visit. By all accounts the visit went fairly well but according to Rivals.com Adam Friedman there will be some due diligence in the Guarantano camp.
Here’s a few bullet points from Friedman’s post over at Scarlet Nation (subscription required…do it!!!):
- Guarantano is in constant communication with Tennessee & Ohio State and is expected to visit both schools before making a decision
- He will not commit until he has visited both schools
- Visits to both schools are currently in the works and could come soon
- Despite other reports a commitment isn’t going to occur soon
An interesting, almost throwaway line, from Friedman that really should spark some curiosity was this one:
IMO if Guarantano were to commit to Rutgers, he would not commit alone. By that I mean Rutgers would get a commitment from Guarantano and another big name in-state player at the same time.
